Writing: My letter to Writer’s Forum

I’d just like to say thank you for all your encouraging advice in your magazine.
I was deeply depressed in the first lockdown, It was quite disconcerting how everything grounded to a halt especially as I like routine. I was also waiting to be housed in an with adapted apartment by my local council so I could live independently and move out of my parents home.
At first I thought I’ll get lots of writing done but as the daily statistics riser so did my anxiety and even my blog had fallen by the wayside, I just couldn’t find any motivation to do anything creative related. My day consisted of Disney +, Stardew Valley and my the only non family/friends conversation came in the form of the green owl from Duolingo. I still managed to write down all my ideas and kept saying to myself I’ll try and write tomorrow but as they say tomorrow never comes.

When the news of the vaccine came I was jubilant and finally saw a glimmer of hope in regards to the start of my independence and adult hood. So I then decided that in January I would rejuvenate my enthusiasm for writing and put my multiple subscriptions to writing magazines to good use and now I am aiming of submitting two pieces to various competitions a day.

So I’d like to say thank you to your magazine for keeping me company throughout the pandemic and slowly drip feed me inspiration even if I wasn’t writing. I now look forward to each issue every month and have started to write down what writing assignments I’ve accomplished each day so that I can look back and say that I did something positive and productive. I love seeing giant ticks next to each writing assignment or competition I entered each day. I’m slowly getting my Mojo back
