Fashion: If I was going to Paris fashion week

I know it’s a bit late but here’s what I would wear to Paris fashion week.

Firstly we have this black pencil dress with long sleeves and polar neck available from Selfridges for £50. I always believe that a little black dress can never be boring or complicated. (Providing you have the right accessorise and body shape) Then we have Steve Maddens black stiletto heel with ankle strap at £95 also available via Nordstrom. To accessorise we have Kate spade black stud earrings at £16 and a faux leather handbag from Amazon at £10.99.

Now we move on to hair and beauty. For the nails I am in love with black stiletto nails, I recommend Rimmel London nail varnish range from £6-£10. Of course it wouldn’t be Paris fashion week if we didn’t have a L’Oréal lipstick in a dusty pink at £20 teamed with get black eyeliner, again I recommend Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in charcoal at £12 and of course false eye lashes from Huda Beauty at £20. Keep the makeup simple with your outfit being the focus, less is more. For foundation for a more natural look try a BB cream like NYX professional tinted skin veil at £8.50 with a dash of blush from benefit Sugarbomb Blush Face Powder Mini at £14.50. To take your look into the evening add some highlighter like Hula Benefit Bronzer £12.50, shimmery eye shadow stick from Bobbi Brown at £30 and swipe of lipgloss. To give off the air of a pretty Parisian and sophisticated female spray yourself liberally with Gabrielle by Chanel at £72 available at John Lewis.

Last thing you need to know is how to do a high ponytail and this courtesy of the beauty boffin’s at

Give your hair some texture. If your hair is freshly washed and a little too smooth, add some hairspray or dry shampoo to your hair for some texture. This will allow your ponytail to stay in place all day long.

Step 2: Next, pull your hair up towards the crown of your head. Make sure you’re pulling your hair up, not back and don’t be afraid to go higher than you would normally!

Step 3: Holding the ponytail in place with one hand, brush out any bumps with the other hand to ensure a smooth, sleek ponytail.

Step 4: Once you have found the perfect ponytail placement (center of your head, visible from the front), it’s time to take your hair elastic and secure the pony into place.

Step 5: To keep your ponytail looking chic and not like you just came from the gym, take a 1-inch section of hair from the underside of your ponytail and wrap it around the hair elastic. Secure the hair with a bobby pin to hide the elastic, pushing the bobby pin in on the underside of the hair elastic so everything is covered up.

Step 6: For some added volume and texture, tease the ponytail with a fine-tooth comb, gently combing hair upwards and towards the front.
